Tell me about your weekend. Share pics!

My weekend started on Friday morning when I left with the band to go to Bands of America! We traveled four hours to St. Louis a performed our show at 7:30.We didn't make finals, but I think that everyone was happy with our show. Over all we screed 25th out of all the bands! At 11:00 pm on Saturday everyone was leaving, but I stayed with my parents at the hotel that night. The next morning we left for Kansas. We got home at 3:00 and I watched Anime for the rest of the day. :)

Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.
I can understand where your perspective is, but I still find my self agreeing with the original author. I never wear anything riskay. I actually wear the potato sack most days, but I feel that students should enjoy the freedom of wearing what they want while they still can. Your comment about the workplace was a god point, and  it also shows my point that we only have a few more years to wear what we want freely. While you have some good points and I agree with some of your ideas, I till think we should have more freedom with our style.

I think student should study subjects that are geared to their interest and how they want t spend the rest of their lives. For Example, I would study psychology and health instead of geometry and all the other classes that will never impact my life. Schools need to take advantage of student while they have them and let them study something that will be useful. Not ever student needs to know how to find the area of a triangle. I still think that our system is effective, but there needs to be more encouragement to classes that help with real life problems.

The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.

I found the author of this article interesting, and I found her to be very convincing  on the topic. The dress codes have always been a hot topic in schools across the country. I feel that the author address the issue honestly and from a unique perspective, but I have to side with the school. The dress code at Blue Valley gives girls freedom and also sets a reasonable standard for clothing. I could understand if the school choose to loosen the dress code.

Tell me about your weekend! If you don't have anything fun to share, tell me about the city you live in. What do you love about Kansas City? Do you have a favorite place in the city? Favorite team? :) Favorite event? Explain.

This weekend I went to Blue Springs with the Band. *epic voice* We started our journey at 6:20 in the morning... Only a few of us made it... Once we were on the bus chaos broke lose. A long series of your mom jokes and singing toke place. We arrived at Blue Spring at 8:00 and warmed up for 3 hours. Once it was time for the performance half the band had frost bite. We then performed our show and we got first in EVERYTHING; everyone cheered. At the end of the day, in Finals, we made 3rd and got a huge trophy! Then everyone passed out.
